VFX stands for visual effects, which is the process of creating imagery that does not physically exist through the use of computer-generated imagery (CGI), compositing and motion capture¹. Examples include 3D modelling, green screen filming and performance capture. VFX are often used in film, TV, games and other media to create realistic objects, characters and environments that would be too costly, dangerous, impractical or impossible to shoot in real life¹.

Yes. We routinely work under NDAs and are committed to confidentiality, especially for unreleased IPs and high-profile productions.

After the free consultation, we’ll share a custom proposal and timeline. You can review it and decide whether to move forward. Projects only begin after formal agreement and initial deposit.

Our refund policy is to offer you a full or partial refund if you are not satisfied with your project for any reason. If you have any issues or concerns with your project, please contact us within 14 days of receiving it and we will try our best to resolve them. If we cannot resolve them, we will issue you a refund according to the terms of our agreement.

We work with clients from all over the world. We communicate with them through email, phone, video calls, or any other preferred method. We listen to their needs, preferences, and goals for their projects. We provide them with proposals, samples, feedback, and updates throughout the production process. We deliver the final product according to their specifications and satisfaction.

No. All consultations and project reviews can be done online. If necessary, in-person meetings can be arranged selectively.

Yes. If you have reference material, raw footage, 3D assets, or partial concepts, we can integrate them into the pipeline as long as they meet technical specs.

As involved as you like. Our workflow is designed to keep you in the loop — from initial moodboards and concept art to scene layout and final reviews.

Yes. As outlined on our Trust Page, we offer a completely free initial consultation to discuss your vision, explore creative potential, and determine the right production approach — with no pressure or obligation.

Depending on the project, we use tools like Maya, Blender, After Effects, Unreal Engine, and AI-powered systems. Frame.io is our primary platform for media sharing, reviews, and approvals.

The original name mcatimber.com is long but we chose the short name MCA to make it easier to remember .
We also have mcaproduction.com which will be separated into two parts with different responsibilities in the future mcatimber.com

MCA Timber is officially based in Brindleyplace, Birmingham (UK). This is currently our primary point of contact for UK operations.
